Organizational Context
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN entity established in 1949 to provide assistance and protection to approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. UNRWA's mandate includes education, health care, relief services, and infrastructure improvement. As the largest UN operation in the Middle East, it relies on voluntary contributions. This role reports to the Senior TVET Instructor or Deputy Principal.
Job Purpose
This role supports the design, development, and facilitation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) learning programs and curricula. The instructor is responsible for organizing competency analyses, drafting learning materials, and integrating new technologies and career guidance. They will facilitate both school-based and work-based learning, ensuring inclusive training methods, adult learning strategies, and mainstreaming of Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and core skills. The position involves designing and conducting formative and summative assessments, building employer linkages, utilizing labor market information, and applying quality assurance frameworks. Additionally, the role supports TVET greening and digitalization initiatives, collaborates with colleagues, and maintains a respectful and disciplined learning environment, while adhering to OSH measures.
Responsibilities
Develop and design learning programs and curricula, including conducting competency analyses, drafting learning guides, and integrating emerging technologies and career guidance. Facilitate school-based and work-based learning by preparing training venues, utilizing facilities and equipment, developing inclusive lesson plans, and managing learning environments. Employ adult learning strategies, integrating trainees with disabilities and special needs, and mainstreaming Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and core skills. Design and conduct formative and summative assessments, including practice-based and knowledge-based tests, developing assessment tools and plans. Build linkages with employers and industry professionals, utilizing labor market information to identify and address skills gaps. Apply quality assurance processes according to the UNRWA TVET Quality Assurance Framework. Support and implement green and digital TVET initiatives, integrating relevant skills into training. Collaborate with staff to coordinate teaching, maintain a positive learning environment, and implement OSH measures.
