Organizational Context

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN entity established in 1949 to provide assistance and protection to approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. UNRWA offers services in education, health, social services, and infrastructure, operating as the largest UN program in the Middle East with over 30,000 staff. This role reports to the Senior TVET Instructor or Deputy Principal of the Training Centre.

Job Purpose

This role supports the design, development, and facilitation of vocational training programs, specifically in Paramedic studies, at UNRWA's Siblin and Nahr El Bared Training Centers. The incumbent will contribute to curriculum development, including occupational analyses and the integration of new technologies and career guidance. A key aspect is facilitating inclusive learning experiences, employing adult learning strategies, and ensuring the mainstreaming of Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and core skills. The position also involves designing and conducting formative and summative assessments, building linkages with employers, utilizing labor market information, and applying quality assurance frameworks. Furthermore, the role supports greening and digitalization initiatives within TVET programs, fostering collaboration among staff and maintaining a disciplined learning environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine learning programs and curricula, including conducting competency analyses, drafting program materials, and integrating emerging technologies and career guidance. Facilitate school-based and work-based learning, preparing training venues, managing facilities and equipment, and developing inclusive lesson plans. Employ adult learning strategies, accommodating trainees with disabilities and special needs, and integrating OSH and core skills into delivery. Design and administer formative and summative assessments, including skills tests and OSH evaluations. Build relationships with employers and industry professionals, utilizing labor market information to identify and address skills gaps. Apply quality assurance processes according to the UNRWA TVET Quality Assurance Framework. Support and implement green and digital TVET initiatives, designing and facilitating relevant learning sessions. Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate teaching, maintain a positive learning environment, and implement co-curricular activities. Ensure adherence to OSH measures and report incidents.
