Organizational Context

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN entity established in 1949 to assist and protect approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. UNRWA provides essential services including education, healthcare, and social services, operating as the largest UN program in the Middle East with over 30,000 staff. This role reports to the Senior TVET Instructor or Deputy Principal.

Job Purpose

This role supports the design, development, and facilitation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs in Architecture Engineering. The purpose is to deliver effective learning experiences, develop inclusive training plans, and manage learning environments. Key contributions include assessing and integrating new technologies, designing formative and summative assessments, and building linkages with employers to align training with labor market needs. The role also supports TVET greening and digitalization initiatives, ensuring training programs are relevant and up-to-date. Collaboration with colleagues is essential for coordinating the teaching process and maintaining a positive learning environment, while also ensuring adherence to Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine learning programs and curricula, including competency analyses, program profiles, and learning guides. Assess and integrate emerging technologies into the Architecture Engineering specialization. Facilitate school-based and work-based learning, preparing training venues, utilizing facilities, and developing inclusive lesson plans. Employ adult learning strategies, integrating trainees with disabilities and special needs, and mainstreaming Occupational Health and Safety (OSH). Design and conduct formative and summative assessments, including practice-based and knowledge-based tests, and develop assessment plans. Build and maintain relationships with employers and industry professionals, utilizing labor market information to identify skills gaps. Apply quality assurance processes according to the UNRWA TVET Quality Assurance Framework. Support and implement green and digital TVET initiatives, integrating relevant skills into training. Collaborate with staff to coordinate teaching, maintain discipline, and implement OSH measures.
