Consultant -Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Assessment, Reporting Framework and Roadmap
Organizational Context
The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) Office of Investment Management seeks to enhance its understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices. Currently, CSR activities are integrated across various functions but lack a structured assessment framework, limiting visibility into strengths, gaps, and development opportunities. This consultancy will support UNJSPF in this endeavor.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to support the UNJSPF in developing a comprehensive internal Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report and a sustainable reporting approach. The role involves assessing current CSR and sustainability practices, benchmarking against comparable organizations, identifying strengths and gaps, and developing practical recommendations and a multi-year roadmap. The consultant will also produce a baseline CSR report and a structured reporting framework with a reusable template for annual updates. The focus is on assessment, analysis, reporting, and recommendations, excluding implementation.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze existing CSR policies, programs, and governance. Conduct stakeholder interviews and consultations to gather qualitative and quantitative data on current CSR activities. Perform benchmarking against relevant external organizations. Prepare a baseline CSR report detailing existing practices, achievements, data, and observations. Develop actionable recommendations, priority areas, and a multi-year roadmap for CSR development. Design a structured reporting framework and a reusable template for future annual CSR reporting. Present findings and recommendations to UNJSPF stakeholders, incorporating feedback into final deliverables. The assignment focuses on assessment, analysis, reporting, and recommendations, not implementation.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in CSR, sustainability, or ESG advisory work is required. This includes experience in assessments, benchmarking, gap analysis, and developing recommendations and roadmaps. Experience in preparing CSR/sustainability reports and disclosures is essential. Experience developing reporting frameworks, templates, or tools is also required. Experience with international organizations, pension funds, or public institutions is desirable.
Skills
Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and report-writing skills. Experience in CSR/sustainability assessments, benchmarking, gap analysis, and roadmap development. Proficiency in developing reporting frameworks and templates. Familiarity with CSR, ESG, and sustainability principles.
