Job Purpose
This internship within the International Trade and Integration Division of ECLAC in Santiago, Chile, aims to support the Division's communication and outreach activities. The intern will assist in increasing the visibility and accessibility of the Division's work on international trade and regional integration. This involves preparing and disseminating communication materials, adapting technical content for broader audiences, and supporting the implementation of communication plans for various initiatives, including publications, projects, and events. The role contributes to the effective communication of the Division's research and activities.
Responsibilities
The intern will research, compile, and organize information on the Division's projects, publications, and events. Key duties include drafting and editing website articles, news items, social media posts, and institutional summaries. The role involves adapting technical content into accessible messages for non-specialist audiences and supporting the creation of visual communication materials such as presentations, infographics, and social media cards. Additionally, the intern will assist in updating the Division's website and social media channels, disseminating reports and knowledge products, and supporting the communication coverage of conferences and workshops. Maintaining contact databases, calendars, and digital archives, as well as compiling basic communication performance statistics, are also part of the responsibilities.
Work Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a relevant field of study is essential. The internship is open to students in their final year of a bachelor's program or those who have completed a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program.
