Job Purpose
The Assistant Electrical Design Engineer supports the Electrical Design Engineer in preparing detailed electrical designs for various building projects, including schools, hospitals, and shelters. This role ensures designs comply with agency policies, international codes, and incorporate green elements for cost-effective and reliable solutions. The position contributes to tender document preparation, provides technical support for electrical alterations, and collaborates with construction teams to resolve design issues during implementation. The role also assists in coordinating with other designers, drafting Terms of Reference for consultants, and preparing technical reports, ultimately contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects for Palestine refugees.
Responsibilities
Assists in preparing detailed electrical designs using CAD software for diverse building projects, ensuring compliance with agency policies, design criteria, standards, and codes, while incorporating green elements and safety for cost-effectiveness. Contributes to tender document preparation, including specifications and Bills of Quantities. Provides technical support for electrical alteration works, conducting assessments and recommending remediation. Cooperates with construction teams to address design issues during implementation and updates drawings to reflect as-built conditions. Coordinates with other designers to optimize electrical solutions, ensuring safety and integrity. Assists in drafting Terms of Reference for consultants and supports their monitoring. Provides input for various technical and progress reports.
Work Experience
Requires at least three years of relevant experience in electrical design, including drawing and calculations, preferably for public buildings and developmental projects. Experience with electrical design software and computer-aided design (e.g., AutoCAD) is also required.
