Job Purpose
This role is responsible for managing a health centre within UNRWA, ensuring the provision of comprehensive outpatient and specialized health services. This includes maternal and child health, non-communicable disease control, and managing hospital referrals. The position involves performing medical examinations for various purposes, such as for special hardship assistance, new staff, and periodic staff check-ups. A key aspect is the effective management of the health centre's operations, including service organization, personnel supervision, supply chain management, and accurate reporting. The incumbent will also oversee the performance of medical, nursing, and para-medical staff, maintain community relations, and ensure the availability and quality of medicines and medical supplies.
Responsibilities
Provide general outpatient and specialized health services, including maternal and child health, non-communicable disease management, and hospital referrals. Conduct medical examinations for applicants, new staff, and periodic staff assessments, and participate in medical boards. Manage the assigned health centre, overseeing service organization, personnel supervision, supply management, and reporting. Supervise and evaluate the performance of medical, nursing, and para-medical staff. Maintain relationships with the local community and authorities. Ensure the availability, quality, and validity of medicines and medical supplies, managing ordering, receipt, and disposal of expired items. Participate in staff training and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible and relevant professional working experience is required. Experience in managing health services and supervising staff is essential. Preference may be given to candidates residing in the West Bank or Jerusalem with a valid ID.
