International Senior Drug Control Consultant

Organizational Context

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking International Senior Drug Control Consultants to deliver specialized lectures and academic sessions for a Higher Diploma program. These consultants will work under the supervision of a UNODC Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer and the overall guidance of the Representative for the GCC Region.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to contribute expertise in drug control strategies by preparing and delivering specialized lectures and academic sessions for a Higher Diploma program. Consultants will develop and adapt training materials, provide technical input on drug policy analysis and related criminal justice aspects, and create assessment tools. They will also evaluate student work, provide feedback, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the course content. This role directly supports UNODC's mandate to foster knowledge and capacity in drug control and crime prevention within the GCC region.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver specialized lectures and academic sessions within the consultant's area of expertise for the Higher Diploma in Drug Control Strategies. Develop and adapt lecture materials, presentations, and practical training content to align with the program curriculum and UNODC methodologies. Provide technical input on statistical methods for drug policy analysis, strategy evaluation, drug-related crime trends, risks, investigative approaches, and evidence-based decision-making. Create examination materials, including drafting questions and assessment tools. Review, assess, and mark examination scripts and assignments, providing structured grading and feedback. Contribute to the continuous improvement of course content based on delivery experience and participant feedback.

Work Experience

A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience in drug control, criminal justice, or law enforcement is required. Experience in delivering academic or professional training, including curriculum development and lecture delivery, is also required. Experience in training or technical assistance within the GCC and/or MENA region is desirable.
