Job Purpose

This role supports the Head Field Procurement & Logistics Office by planning, organizing, and managing logistics operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery across the Field. The incumbent will oversee distribution and warehousing, including the receipt, quality control, and delivery of supplies, as well as managing stock control and warehouse improvements. Additionally, the role involves managing fleet operations, ensuring vehicle maintenance, overseeing repairs, leading cost efficiency initiatives, coordinating fleet replacement, and managing transport vendors and drivers. The position also contributes to proposal development, budget management, policy integration, and external coordination, while providing technical advice and training to staff.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate the Logistics Office and staff, reporting to the Head Field Procurement & Logistics Office. Oversee distribution and warehousing, including facilitating supply receipt, ensuring quality control, managing surplus equipment sales, supervising stock control, and managing distribution centers. Implement warehouse improvements, security, and risk management, and conduct logistics assessments. Manage fleet operations, including supervising vehicle maintenance and repairs, leading cost efficiency, coordinating fleet replacement and disposal, assessing transport vendors, and managing drivers and high-value assets. Ensure generator maintenance. Participate in proposal development, budget management, and policy integration. Conduct market surveys for contracts and provide training and development for staff. Coordinate with central support services and field management for operational oversight and provide technical logistics advice.

Work Experience

A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in managing complex logistics operations, field operations, or logistics hubs is required, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity. Experience in port operations and customs clearance procedures is desirable. Knowledge of the host country's business environment, laws, and regulations is also desirable.
