Job Purpose
The Information Management Intern will support the Department of Peacekeeping Operations by exploring and applying generative AI tools for data processing, automation, and information management. This role involves conducting statistical analysis, creating data visualizations and presentations, and developing data collection applications using Microsoft O365 suite. The intern will also assist in developing prototypes, proof-of-concept applications incorporating AI, and technical documentation. This position contributes to enhancing the department's data management capabilities and leveraging innovative technologies for operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in exploring generative AI tools for data processing, automation, and information management. Key duties include performing statistical analysis on datasets, preparing infographics and PowerPoint presentations, and designing/implementing data-driven reports and dashboards using Ms Power BI. The role also involves developing data collection applications using Microsoft O365 (SharePoint, PowerApps, Flow/Power Automate) and Ms SQL. Additionally, the intern will support the development of AI-integrated prototypes and proof-of-concept applications, and help create technical documentation and guidance on data collection and visualization tools. Other related duties as required.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, a strong academic background in a relevant field and proficiency in standard office software and automation equipment are expected. Demonstrated interest in the UN's work and ability to interact with diverse cultural backgrounds are also important.
