Organizational Context
The Financing for Sustainable Development Office (FSDO) within the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) focuses on research and policy analysis in financing for development. This internship supports the Policy Analysis and Development Branch (PADB), which coordinates the annual Financing for Sustainable Development Report and leads guidance on Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs).
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the effective dissemination of the Policy Analysis and Development Branch's (PADB) analytical work on financing for sustainable development. The intern will contribute to research, analysis, and knowledge management activities, focusing on areas such as domestic public resources, private finance, international development cooperation, debt sustainability, and Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs). The role involves assisting in communication strategies, preparing and disseminating content across various channels, and supporting global events to enhance the visibility of PADB's work and recommendations for Member States.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and executing communication strategies to disseminate analytical work on financing for development. Prepare, manage, and distribute content for social media, newsletters, emails, and event materials related to PADB and INFFs. Support the work of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Financing for Development. Conduct research and prepare background papers on sustainable development financing issues, including INFF implementation. Develop concept notes for office-managed events. Participate in planning and coordinating global Financing for Development events. Engage with stakeholders through various communication channels. Track and report on communication strategy effectiveness, suggesting improvements. Stay updated on digital marketing and social media trends. Perform other assigned communication-related tasks.
Work Experience
No professional work experience is required for this internship. However, applicants must meet the educational requirements. Familiarity with standard software applications like MS Word, PowerPoint, and Teams is necessary. Experience in drafting news articles or social media posts, and designing surveys or polls, is desirable.
