Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive research, analytical, administrative, and project support to the Regional Advisory Programme (RAP) and the COTONI Project within UNCTAD. The incumbent will assist in the day-to-day implementation of project activities, facilitate meetings and consultations, and ensure effective project monitoring and reporting to donor counterparts. This support is crucial for the successful execution of development initiatives aimed at Least Developed Countries, ensuring timely progress tracking, data management, and the production of knowledge products. The role contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the RAP's mandate.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the daily implementation of the COTONI Project and RAP activities, providing logistical and administrative assistance for meetings, workshops, and missions, and preparing related documentation. The role involves assisting in project monitoring and reporting by collecting, compiling, and organizing data, updating tracking matrices, and supporting the preparation of progress reports and briefing notes. Furthermore, the position requires providing research and data management support, including collecting, verifying, and organizing quantitative and qualitative data, maintaining datasets, and assisting with basic statistical analysis and data visualization. Coordination of project planning, monitoring deadlines, and preparing meeting notes are also key duties. Finally, the role supports the creation of research and knowledge products by conducting desk research on relevant development issues and assisting in formatting reports and publications.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of experience in management, economics, or a related field is required. Experience in project support, research assistance, data management, and administrative tasks within an international or development context is desirable.
