This role reports to the Chief Field Education Programme and supervises training centre staff.
Job Purpose
This role oversees the comprehensive development and implementation of training center programs, projects, and daily operations, encompassing administrative and technical aspects. It involves managing the delivery and assessment of training programs, ensuring alignment with curricula and timetables, and contributing to program design and evaluation. The position requires representing the center in external forums, fostering partnerships with employers and stakeholders to enhance program relevance, and coordinating with host country education officials. A key aspect is promoting trainee well-being, discipline, and morale, ensuring access to essential services and integrating inclusive education and human rights principles. The role also involves budget preparation and supervision, exploring innovative financial models, and overseeing trainee enrollment and residential services.
Responsibilities
Oversee the development and implementation of training center programs, projects, and daily operations, including financial, supply, transport, boarding, feeding, maintenance, and security. Assess and advise on improving TVET quality assurance systems. Manage the development, delivery, and assessment of training programs, participating in curriculum design and evaluation. Represent the center in external engagements and build partnerships with employers and stakeholders. Promote trainee discipline, well-being, and morale, ensuring access to health and recreational services, and integrating inclusive education and human rights. Supervise budget preparation, expenditure control, and fundraising efforts. Oversee trainee enrollment, registrar functions, and residential services. Guide project proposals, feasibility studies, and market surveys for program development. Advise on training space design and resource utilization. Lead staff recruitment, performance appraisal, and professional development. Advise on greening and digital transformation initiatives for TVET. Ensure implementation of Occupation Safety and Health measures. Perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Requires at least seven years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including four years in an administrative/supervisory capacity in a TVET institution and three years of professional teaching experience. Desirable experience includes supervision of a residential educational training center, industry-related specialization, and possession of a recognized diploma of education or teacher training certificate.
