The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Haiti, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) and the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC), is implementing a project to strengthen anti-corruption efforts through education. This initiative focuses on developing and rolling out ethics manuals and reviewing the curriculum for young people, recognizing the significant youth population in Haiti and the need to foster integrity from an early age.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the roll-out of anti-corruption education initiatives in Haiti. The consultant will deliver training sessions to teachers on newly developed ethics manuals and conduct a pedagogical review of the "Les Génies de la Bonne Gouvernance" curriculum. This role is crucial for instilling ethical values and integrity in young people, contributing to long-term anti-corruption strategies, promoting transparency and accountability in institutions, and fostering a culture that actively resists corruption. The ultimate goal is to equip future generations with the knowledge and values necessary for good governance and sustainable development in Haiti.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for developing detailed agendas and training materials for four five-day training sessions for teachers. They will deliver these training sessions, focusing on both the content of the ethics manuals and pedagogical approaches for engaging young learners. Additionally, the consultant will conduct a comprehensive pedagogical review of the "Les Génies de la Bonne Gouvernance" curriculum, providing recommendations to ensure its didactic coherence and suitability for different age groups. The role also includes producing activity reports after each training session and a final mission report summarizing the outcomes and impact of the assignment.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of experience in promoting the rule of law (with a Master's degree) or 5 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required. A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience is also mandatory. Experience in delivering training on ethics and anti-corruption, as well as in instructional design and curriculum development/revision, is essential. Experience in the fight against corruption, working with civil society, or with international organizations like the UN is desirable.
Skills
Fluency in oral and written French is required. Knowledge of English or another official UN language is an advantage. Expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and delivering training on ethics and anti-corruption is essential. Experience in promoting the rule of law and teaching is also required.
