The Events Unit, within the Global Knowledge and Advocacy Division, plays a key role in fostering strategic alliances. This consultancy supports the implementation of critical enhancements to GEMS and MIND systems.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to implement high-priority enhancements for the GEMS and MIND systems within a three-month timeframe. The focus is on improving registration data quality and privacy, strengthening role/permission and on-site security controls, developing a Bilateral Meeting Rooms module, enhancing GEMS statistical reporting, and refining MIND invitation-management functionality. Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of the Events Unit and in coordination with technical leads, the incumbent will develop and implement several key functionalities. This includes building a chaperone consent workflow with digital signatures and an amendment window into online registration. The role also involves creating a self-service data-deletion request system, dormant account management, and a 'Manage My Data' dashboard. Additionally, responsibilities include implementing on-site station and credential security, an AI-assisted photo quality check, and multi-language and accessibility features for registration forms. The consultant will also create various reports, integrate with the Urban October website, and manage event creation within GEMS.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in full-stack web development is required. Experience with implementing form validation, role-based access control, and reporting/dashboard features in a production web application is desirable.
