Job Purpose
This role supports the Field Pharmaceutical Services Officer (FPSO) in managing pharmaceutical services within the West Bank field office. The incumbent will be responsible for estimating, ordering, receiving, and distributing medical supplies, ensuring availability and adherence to UNRWA policies. This includes participating in procurement analysis, conducting supervisory visits to health centers, and providing training on drug management. The position also involves assisting in the administration of pharmacies, coordinating needs assessments, and contributing to the recruitment and evaluation of pharmaceutical staff, ultimately ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of essential medicines to Palestine refugees.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include managing the supply chain for medical supplies, from estimation and ordering to distribution, utilizing systems like PIMS and FMS. This involves collaborating with Procurement and Logistics departments and participating in bid analysis. The role requires active participation in planning, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating pharmaceutical services in the field. Regular supervisory visits to health centers are essential to ensure adequate stock levels and compliance with UNRWA policies and guidelines. Additionally, the incumbent will provide staff development advice and conduct in-service training on rational drug use, dispensing, storage, and safe handling. Responsibilities also extend to scrutinizing requisitions, contributing to essential drug list updates, assisting in pharmacy administration, coordinating needs assessments, and supporting the recruitment and evaluation of pharmaceutical staff.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of experience in pharmacy services is required. This must include at least two years in a supervisory role, specifically managing medical supply operations. Knowledge of local pharmaceutical laws and regulations is desirable.
