Job Purpose
This role serves to provide essential technical expertise for the "Sejnane in Action" project, focusing on rainwater harvesting systems. The purpose is to support the municipality in identifying and implementing sustainable technical solutions to enhance water availability and resilience in Sejnane, Tunisia. The contractor will contribute to project planning, design, implementation support, and technical advisory, ensuring practical and effective solutions are developed and deployed to address the region's pressing water and environmental challenges. This involves close collaboration with project teams, local authorities, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and improve the WASH sector.
Responsibilities
The Technical Coordinator will contribute to workplan refinement for rainwater harvesting activities and provide technical inputs for system design, including sizing, layout, and specifications. Responsibilities include supporting the preparation and review of Bills of Quantities and technical documentation. The role involves providing technical guidance during implementation, assisting with troubleshooting and design adjustments based on site conditions, and participating in construction discussions. Additionally, the coordinator will offer ongoing technical advice to project teams and stakeholders, support coordination with municipal authorities, and participate in relevant meetings and workshops. Capacity building through technical guidance and knowledge sharing with local stakeholders, including support for training activities and initial operational guidance, is also a key responsibility.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressive experience in water management and environmental fields is required. Experience in designing, specifying, or supporting small-scale rainwater harvesting systems at the community level is a strong asset. Demonstrated experience providing practical technical guidance across project phases (design, planning, implementation) is desirable.
