The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority. The Capacity-building Initiative for Transparency - Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) is a five-year project supporting developing countries in implementing the Paris Agreement's Enhanced Transparency Framework. This consultancy role supports the final communication package for the CBIT-GSP.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to develop a professional, high-quality end-of-project communications package for the CBIT-GSP. This package will effectively communicate the programme's achievements, impact, and legacy to diverse audiences, including donors, governments, and partners. The role involves strategic storytelling, visual communication, digital media, and stakeholder engagement to translate technical results into compelling narratives. The objective is to create an impact report and related assets that document, visualize, and communicate the project's results and lessons learned, enhancing its visibility and supporting future efforts.
Responsibilities
Develop a professional end-of-project communications package for the CBIT-GSP, including a visually compelling impact report and related communication assets. Translate technical programme results into compelling narratives for diverse audiences through strategic storytelling, visual communication, and digital media. Document and showcase tangible programme results through impact stories highlighting country experiences, regional collaboration, and institutional strengthening. Produce multimedia communication products such as social media assets and short video interviews. Ensure all communication products are evidence-based, suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences, and delivered in publication-ready and editable formats.
Work Experience
At least five years of professional experience (with a Master's) or seven years (with a Bachelor's) in communications, strategic storytelling, or knowledge management. Proven experience in developing visual communication products, social media campaigns, and digital storytelling. Experience interviewing senior stakeholders and translating complex technical information into clear narratives. Experience producing short professional videos is strongly desired.
