Organizational Context

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) seeks a consultant to facilitate the eTrade for Women Pitch Day at the IIC Prabhav Conference in New Delhi. This role supports advanced women digital entrepreneurs from South Asia, connecting them with investors and ecosystem experts.

Job Purpose

The consultant's primary purpose is to ensure the successful organization and delivery of the eTrade for Women Pitch Day, a key event for 8 advanced women digital entrepreneurs from South Asia during the IIC Prabhav Conference. This involves coordinating all logistical and substantive aspects, from finalizing arrangements with conference organizers to co-facilitating the event. The role aims to provide a platform for these entrepreneurs to present their ventures, receive expert feedback, and foster valuable connections with investors, mentors, and strategic partners, thereby enhancing their growth potential and facilitating follow-up engagement beyond the conference.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with conference organizers to finalize arrangements for the eTrade for Women pitch session. Identify and secure a panel of mentors, investors, and ecosystem experts to evaluate entrepreneurs and provide feedback. Liaise with organizers and panel members to ensure smooth coordination and alignment on event objectives and format. Support entrepreneurs in pitch preparation through material review and rehearsal sessions. Co-facilitate the Pitch Day, ensuring smooth implementation of pitching sessions. Contribute substantive expertise by providing feedback, moderating discussions, and supporting knowledge exchange. Facilitate introductions and networking opportunities between entrepreneurs and relevant stakeholders to encourage post-event engagement.

Work Experience

A minimum of 7 years of work experience in entrepreneurship, finance, or marketing is required. A well-established network of investors, venture capital firms, and key industry experts in the South Asian region is also required. Knowledge of the digital-SMEs ecosystem in developing countries and gender-lens investment is desirable.
