Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide essential tools, inputs, and studies to guide economic diversification and resilience efforts in West Africa. The role will generate recommendations and orientations focused on value chain development, macroeconomic stability, and the advancement of intra-African trade. Key contributions include preparing assessments of regional and national value chains and their policy frameworks, collecting and analyzing economic data for policy formulation on emerging West African issues like debt management and SDG implementation, and supporting priority projects related to the AfCFTA. The ultimate goal is to enhance economic growth and integration within the region.
Responsibilities
The consultant will prepare assessments of regional and national value chains and associated policy frameworks to foster economic diversification and industrialization in West Africa. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing economic data and information to support policy formulation on critical West African issues such as debt management, domestic resource mobilization, and the implementation of SDGs and the AfCFTA. The role involves developing tools, providing relevant inputs and studies, and formulating recommendations and orientations to strengthen economic diversification and resilience. The consultant will also perform other tasks as requested by the Director, ensuring timely delivery of specific outputs like value chain assessments and data analysis for priority projects.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience is required in areas such as sustainable development, economic research and analysis, macroeconomic modeling, policy formulation, and project management. Experience in value chain analysis, economic diversification, supporting strategic plans for regional organizations, and report writing is essential.
