Job Purpose
This role is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of relief and social services to Palestine refugees. The incumbent will oversee the provision of quality basic education, manage school performance, and foster a safe learning environment. A key aspect is coordinating support services for students, including remedial teaching and psycho-social counseling, and liaising with students, staff, specialists, and parents. The position also involves maintaining positive relationships with community leaders and relevant organizations, ensuring efficient administration of school resources, and upholding UNRWA guidelines. The role contributes to the overall mission of helping Palestine refugees achieve their full potential in human development.
Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality basic education services to refugee students, aiming to improve academic potential and achievement. This includes providing technical supervision and guidance to School Principals and Deputy School Principals, and fostering a safe, stimulating learning environment. The role involves managing the performance and behavior of school leadership against established standards, developing goals, and providing feedback. Additionally, the incumbent will build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, NGOs, and government institutions. Coordination of support services for underperforming students, such as remedial teaching and counseling, and liaison between students, staff, and parents are key duties. The position also requires ensuring the effective administration of staff, students, premises, and equipment in accordance with UNRWA guidelines.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in relief services and/or social development programs is required. This includes at least three years in a supervisory or management level role, preferably within a similar program. Experience in the West Bank or Jerusalem is desirable.
