This includes interpreting spoken communication, assisting in translating written materials like books and web pages, and ensuring the accuracy of translated texts through editing and proofreading. The Assistant Field Translator will utilize dictionaries and glossaries, support computer-assisted translation, and facilitate communication for those with limited English proficiency. The role also involves interpreting legal and colloquial language, reading documents aloud in different languages, accompanying foreign visitors to facilitate communication, and adapting products for different languages and cultures. Contributions to data collection, analysis, and reporting through data visualization are also expected.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in translation or language-related activities with a government, non-governmental, or international organization is required. For candidates with a first-level university degree or higher in English language, literature, journalism, or a related field, two years of relevant experience is desirable.
