Organizational Context

The Department of Global Communications seeks an Individual Contractor for UN Web TV in New York. This role supports the live streaming and on-demand coverage of UN meetings and events, contributing to the dissemination of information globally through digital platforms.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive live and on-demand streaming coverage for UN Web TV, including major sessions like the 81st General Assembly and its committees, as well as other UN meetings and events at UNHQ. The contractor will ensure high-quality video production, editing, and publishing with accurate metadata. This role is crucial for making UN proceedings accessible to a global audience, supporting transparency and engagement through digital media channels and social platforms.

Responsibilities

Provide daily live and on-demand streaming coverage for UN Web TV, covering the General Assembly, its committees, and other UN events at UNHQ. Schedule and monitor live streams, create video clips from live events, edit recorded videos, and publish them on the UN Web TV platform with relevant language metadata. Translate metadata text from English to another official UN language for at least 40 meetings monthly. Assist with live and on-demand streaming coverage on social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, and X. Generate detailed analytics for assigned events for clients. Perform other related tasks as required.

Work Experience

Requires hands-on experience with cloud video platforms. Experience with the Kaltura cloud video platform is desirable. The role involves scheduling, monitoring, live streaming, editing, and publishing video content.
