Organizational Context
The United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (UNODET), established in January 2025, advises senior leadership on technology trends, advocates for digital cooperation, and facilitates multi-stakeholder dialogue. UNODET strengthens system-wide coordination and supports the Global Digital Compact. This internship supports UNODET's communication efforts.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to enhance UNODET's visibility and engagement through multimedia storytelling and video production. The role focuses on creating short-form digital media and videography to document events, initiatives, and high-level engagements related to digital cooperation and emerging technologies. The intern will contribute to producing compelling content for platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, Bluesky, and X, supporting the office's mission to accelerate global digital cooperation and mitigate technological risks for achieving the 2030 Goals. The position is based in New York and offers a 3-month duration with a possible extension to 6 months.
Responsibilities
Capture compelling video content at dynamic environments, including global conferences and high-level UN engagements. Film behind-the-scenes moments and key activities to support storytelling around UNODET's initiatives and partnerships. Edit short-form, social-first video content for various digital platforms using professional editing software. Support the communications team in producing engaging multimedia content that highlights UNODET's work on digital cooperation and emerging technologies. Assist in recording video and audio using professional or mobile production equipment. Organize and manage video footage and media assets with attention to detail and proper file management.
Work Experience
No prior working experience is required for this internship. However, candidates should possess experience capturing video in real-world environments such as conferences or interviews, and demonstrate a strong visual instinct for framing, pacing, and storytelling. Proficiency in video editing tools like Adobe Premier Pro is expected.
