Job Purpose
The Communications Analyst will support the "Vida Nova no Morro" project in Niterói, Brazil, by developing and implementing communication strategies aligned with UN-Habitat's objectives. This role contributes to strengthening the municipality's capacity for social housing policies and promoting sustainable urban development. The analyst will create and disseminate communication products, manage online presence, and foster relations with stakeholders to ensure effective outreach and advocacy for the project's goals, ultimately supporting UN-Habitat's mandate in the region.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement project-specific communication and outreach plans, aligning with UN-Habitat Brazil's strategy. Create and disseminate communication products, including press releases, social media content, and audiovisual materials. Coordinate communication activities with project teams and UN-Habitat Brazil. Manage the project's online presence, including website content and social media engagement. Prepare regular reports on communication performance indicators. Provide communication coverage for project events, including photography and documentation. Maintain and update project information for various stakeholders and ensure compliance with branding guidelines.
Work Experience
A minimum of four years of progressive communications experience at national or international levels is required. Experience with local governments, civil society, and advocacy initiatives is necessary. Prior experience in the Brazilian context is also required. Experience with digital methodologies, media relations, and social media content production is desirable.
Skills
Excellent writing and proof-reading skills in Portuguese. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and Canva. In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube). Photography and video editing skills are desirable. Experience with inter-institutional environments, project management, and urban governance is beneficial.
