Organizational Context
The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) provides support to various Haitian entities and international organizations, as mandated by Security Council resolution 2793 (2025). This temporary role is based in Port-au-Prince within the Centralised Warehouse Section of the Office of the Chief Supply Chain Management, reporting to the Chief Centralised Warehousing.
Job Purpose
The Property Management Assistant supports the Chief of Unit or Section in efficiently managing Property Control and Inventory within the mission. This involves assisting with planning operations, monitoring progress through data analysis and reports, processing inventory requests, and liaising with relevant sections. The role utilizes the Umoja system for goods issues and maintains accurate property records in compliance with UN standards. The assistant also enhances management tools, monitors inventory databases for discrepancies, prepares performance and statistical reports, and assists in drafting Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsibilities
Assists the Supervisor in planning property management operations and monitoring progress via statistical analysis and monthly reports. Processes inventory requests and reservations in coordination with system users and technical units. Liaises with Self-Accounting Units, Procurement, and Movement Control Sections on inventory matters. Utilizes the Umoja Logistics Execution module for goods issues and maintains accurate, auditable property records in hard and electronic formats, adhering to UN directives and SOPs. Supports the enhancement of business intelligence tools for inventory management oversight. Monitors the Umoja Inventory Management database, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly. Prepares periodic performance and statistical reports for management and drafts correspondence. Assists in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and flowcharts for property management activities. Identifies and implements solutions for inventory management issues. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of experience in property management, inventory control, or logistics management is required. Experience within the UN Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable, as is experience with ERP database administration.
