Job Purpose
This internship within the Protocol and NGO Liaison Office of UNOV/UNODC in Vienna aims to provide practical experience in international protocol and liaison activities. The intern will support the office in its mandate of facilitating interactions between UN entities, the host country, and Permanent Missions. This role contributes to the smooth functioning of diplomatic relations and administrative support for UN programs in Vienna. The intern will gain exposure to the operational aspects of international organizations, specifically in areas of accreditation, event support, and documentation, thereby enhancing their understanding of multilateral diplomacy and UN operations.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in liaising with the Host Country and Permanent Missions regarding accreditation and protocol matters. Responsibilities include managing and updating various protocol databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility of information. The intern will also support the drafting and review of office documentation, contributing to clear and effective communication. Additionally, the role involves providing assistance during special events and meetings, as well as during visits of high-level counterparts to UNOV/UNODC. The intern may also be assigned other ad-hoc tasks as required by the exigencies of service, offering a broad range of exposure to office operations.
