Organizational Context
The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) aims to advance understanding of crime-related issues, foster efficient criminal justice systems, and support international cooperation. This internship is based in the UNICRI Rome Liaison Office, which engages with the Host Country, diplomatic corps, academic and business sectors, Rome-based UN agencies, and civil society to support new projects and UNICRI's visibility.
Job Purpose
This internship supports the UNICRI Rome Liaison Office in its visibility and advocacy activities. The intern will assist the team with daily tasks, conduct research on relevant thematic issues, and monitor communications for specialized courses and events. The role involves providing logistical support for events, assisting in planning and organization, and maintaining event databases. The intern will also contribute to producing communication materials and supporting other office activities, contributing to UNICRI's mission of preventing crime and facilitating criminal justice globally.
Responsibilities
Assist the Rome Liaison Office team with daily visibility and advocacy tasks. Conduct internet research on thematic issues pertinent to UNICRI's work program. Monitor program inboxes to respond to queries from students and stakeholders regarding specialized courses and events. Provide logistical support for in-person events hosted by the Rome Liaison Office. Aid in the planning and organization of both in-person and online events, including speaker research and promotional material preparation. Maintain and update databases for the Rome office's visibility and advocacy events, focusing on academic networks. Provide general office support, including correspondence, record-keeping, and meeting organization. Assist in researching innovative approaches to event organization, communication, and training methodologies. Produce communication and outreach products for various platforms.
