Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen the Dugong and Seagrass Hub, an online knowledge platform, by restructuring and updating its content. The goal is to ensure the platform is sustainable, user-friendly, and effectively supports the long-term management, accessibility, and dissemination of the project's knowledge products. The consultant will enhance the platform's technical robustness and ease of maintenance, ensuring it accurately reflects the project's final outputs and remains a valuable resource for stakeholders involved in seagrass conservation and sustainable coastal livelihoods.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for developing a revised information architecture and content taxonomy for the Dugong and Seagrass Hub in collaboration with the Secretariat. Key duties include reorganizing website menus, page hierarchy, categories, tags, and navigation to improve usability and long-term content management. The role involves migrating, editing, formatting, and publishing existing and new content. Additionally, the consultant will implement agreed technical improvements within the WordPress environment, such as customizing page templates and plugins, and configuring settings. Resolving technical issues, implementing revisions based on Secretariat feedback, and submitting all deliverables in agreed electronic formats are also core responsibilities.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of seven years of demonstrated experience in developing, administering, and maintaining WordPress websites, including theme customization, plugin management, user roles, security, and performance optimization. Experience in back-end development, content migration, information architecture, taxonomy design, search optimization, and website hosting management is essential.
