Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide hands-on experience in conference services, meeting operations, digital solutions, and accessibility initiatives within the UN Secretariat's Department for General Assembly and Conference Management. The intern will support key operational project areas, contributing to the logistical, procedural, and operational workflows of high-level intergovernmental meetings. This role is crucial for driving digital service implementation, analyzing operational data, enhancing accessibility, and standardizing unit processes, thereby supporting the efficient functioning of UN intergovernmental processes and offering valuable learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
The intern will contribute to several key operational areas. This includes co-delivering logistical, procedural, and operational workflows for high-level UN Headquarters intergovernmental meetings in various formats (in-person, virtual, hybrid). Responsibilities also involve driving digital service implementation and sustainable meeting servicing through electronic documentation distribution. The role requires executing data collection, performance analysis, and operational reporting to evaluate service delivery and optimize resource allocation. Additionally, the intern will support the UN Accessibility Centre in advancing inclusive meeting environments and reducing barriers for participants with disabilities, as well as standardizing unit operations through the creation and maintenance of operational guidelines and training documentation.

No prior working experience is required for this United Nations Internship Programme. The focus is on the applicant's current or completed education, advanced coursework, or skills that can benefit the organization during the internship period.
Skills
Fluency in English (oral and written), knowledge of another UN official language (advantageous), data collection, performance analysis, operational reporting, digital service implementation, knowledge management, process improvement, understanding of intergovernmental meeting services, and accessibility initiatives.
