The Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving the United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) supports the Secretary-General and UN leadership in strengthening responses to sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) across peacekeeping, humanitarian, development, and human rights sectors. This role contributes to addressing PSEA gaps and challenges.
Job Purpose
This role supports the Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving the United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) by providing administrative and programmatic support. The incumbent will assist in operational activities, mission logistics, and preparing materials for the Special Coordinator's engagements. Key contributions include supporting the development of the system-wide PSEA strategy, monitoring progress, coordinating stakeholder efforts, facilitating meetings, managing information-sharing platforms, and assisting with resource mobilization and donor reporting. The position aims to advance the UN's efforts in preventing and responding to sexual exploitation and abuse.
Responsibilities
Provide substantive and logistical support for the Special Coordinator's missions and activities. Prepare briefing materials and support speaking engagements. Contribute to the development and implementation of the system-wide PSEA strategy and related projects through research and coordination. Monitor progress in assigned areas by collecting, analyzing, and coordinating information from multiple sources and stakeholders. Offer logistical, substantive, and facilitation support for meetings, including PSEA-related working groups. Manage information-sharing platforms and support office correspondence. Assist in resource mobilization efforts, including donor reporting and budget narrative preparation. Support internal and external information sharing on PSEA matters across various sectors.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in peace and security, humanitarian affairs, political affairs, gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and abuse, or development studies is required. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the front office of a senior official is necessary. Experience with written correspondence, scheduling, and report drafting is desirable.
