Psychosocial Support Intern

Organizational Context

The International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM) in Geneva, Switzerland, is dedicated to assisting in the investigation and prosecution of serious international crimes in Syria. The Operational Support Section (OSS) ensures the safety and well-being of victims and witnesses cooperating with the Mechanism. This internship is based within the OSS, contributing to staff support initiatives.

Job Purpose

This internship aims to enhance the IIIM's ongoing initiatives and improve the quality of psychosocial services provided to its staff. The role offers valuable hands-on experience in organizational psychology, developing transferable skills for future career endeavors. The intern will support the Witness Support Officer in evaluating current staff support mechanisms and exploring new service opportunities, directly contributing to the well-being and effectiveness of the IIIM's personnel.

Responsibilities

Key duties include assisting with the launch and data interpretation of the Annual Well-being and Employee Engagement Survey, and providing support to the IIIM Workgroup on Well-being and Employee Engagement. The intern will conduct research on best practices in psychosocial support for staff, and support the finalization of the Psychological Preparedness for Deployment Manual. Additional responsibilities involve drafting a vicarious trauma prevention guide, designing materials for the Support to Staff online page, and accurately drafting meeting minutes. The intern will also present on staff support topics and produce a report on survey data analysis.

Work Experience

Experience or demonstrated ability in designing surveys and polls is desirable.
