The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks an ICT Support professional in Vienna. This role is part of the UN Secretariat and focuses on providing essential IT services and support to the Country Office (CO) operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of its technology environment.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive Information and Communications Technology (ICT) support services to the UNODC Country Office. This includes responding to user needs, installing and maintaining hardware and software, ensuring network stability and security, and supporting key events and training initiatives. The role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency and technological integrity of the office, enabling staff to perform their duties effectively and securely within the UNODC's mandate.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include providing first-line user support for network access, software, and hardware issues, both in person and remotely. This involves installing, operating, and maintaining UNODC hardware and software, including upgrades and anti-virus programs. The role requires daily monitoring of network connections to ensure stability and troubleshoot problems, as well as protecting UNODC resources from cyber threats. Additionally, responsibilities encompass managing ICT assets through inventory and documentation, performing hardware repairs, and providing on-site ICT setup and support for workshops, conferences, and meetings. Participation in organizing ICT training for staff is also a key duty.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of professional experience is required in first-line user support (in-person and remote), installation and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and printers, and daily network monitoring. Experience with troubleshooting connectivity, applying security updates, managing ICT assets, and providing event-based ICT support is also necessary. Prior exposure to UN procedures is desirable.
