Organizational Context
This position is within the Field Support Section (FSS) of the Corruption and Financial Crime Branch (CFB), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA) at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna. The role reports directly to the Chief of FSS/CFB, contributing to the section's mandate and the broader UNODC objectives.
Job Purpose
The Programme Assistant will provide crucial support to the planning and implementation of activities and projects within the Field Support Section, particularly those related to the Corruption and Financial Crime Hubs. This role involves extensive administrative and programme support in a multilingual setting, ensuring effective communication and information flow. The incumbent will coordinate administrative aspects of project implementation, manage correspondence, organize meetings and workshops, and assist with data analysis and reporting. The purpose is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the section's initiatives and projects, contributing to UNODC's mission.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning and execution of section activities and projects, especially those managed by the Corruption and Financial Crime Hubs. The role involves providing general office support, managing inquiries, correspondence, and filing systems. It requires organizing meetings, seminars, and workshops, and handling routine administrative tasks. The Programme Assistant will act as a focal point for administrative coordination of programme and project implementation, liaising with internal and external units to process administrative actions such as travel, payments, and procurement. Additionally, the role includes compiling and analyzing data, assisting with budget proposals and project document reviews, and preparing data presentations and reports. Guidance to junior staff may also be required.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in programme/project administration and planning is required. This can be reduced to three years with a first-level university degree. Experience in organizing meetings and trainings, working with ERP systems (like SAP/Umoja), and ideally in crime prevention or criminal justice is also necessary.
