This role supports UNEP's programme of work through strategic multimedia production and innovative content packages.

Job Purpose

The Expert Multimedia Producer will deliver strategic internal production plans to enhance the quality, impact, and reach of UNEP’s multimedia assets and channels. This role is responsible for producing innovative video and photo story packages that support UNEP’s programme of work. The producer will translate complex environmental and scientific issues into engaging, accessible, and visually compelling multimedia stories for diverse global audiences, ensuring high production values and strong editorial coherence from concept to final delivery. The position aims to expand the reach and impact of UNEP's multimedia content through innovative techniques and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

Conceive and develop original multimedia story concepts, treatments, and production approaches for UNEP's priority campaigns and global events. Executive produce complex multimedia projects from concept to delivery, ensuring high production values and editorial coherence. Direct filming in various international environments, including interviews, documentary sequences, field reporting, and pieces to camera. Edit long- and short-form video products, integrating graphics, animation, sound design, and colour grading for maximum audience engagement. Develop innovative storytelling products for emerging platforms and produce platform-specific content versions for broadcast, web, social media, and partners. Exercise independent editorial judgment, collaborate with specialists and partners for accuracy, and apply innovative production techniques and emerging technologies. Ensure all outputs meet UNEP's editorial, branding, accessibility, and technical standards, delivering complete production packages.

Work Experience

At least seven years of experience in multimedia production, filmmaking, and/or video for high-quality platforms. Prior experience in the international arena and familiarity with the work of the UN are required. Prior experience shooting video and still photography on DSLR cameras and audio recording experience are desirable.

Multimedia story concept development, executive production, filming direction, video editing (long- and short-form), graphic integration, animation, sound design, colour grading, emerging platform storytelling, platform-specific content production, editorial judgment, collaboration, innovative production techniques, knowledge of UNEP's editorial, branding, accessibility, and technical standards, proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Creative Suite software, familiarity with 360 films and short-form video production.
