Organizational Context
The Resident Coordinator System (RCS) Office seeks to strengthen its data management, integration, and visualization capabilities. This role will develop and implement sustainable information management tools to support the analysis, monitoring, and reporting of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UN INFO platform data, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to enhance the Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) capacity in data management, integration, and visualization. The consultant will develop and implement sustainable information management tools, including dashboards and data repositories, to facilitate the analysis and reporting of SDG indicators, UN program interventions, and country team activities. This will support evidence-based decision-making, results monitoring, and strategic planning. The role also involves documenting and transferring developed tools to the RCO team to ensure their long-term usability and sustainability, and training staff on their management and updates.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for developing and maintaining UN System data management and visualization tools, such as dashboards and repositories, using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Teams, SharePoint, and Tableau. Ensure integration of newly developed tools with existing RCO systems. Assist in compiling and systematizing information for reports, data visualization tools, and the UN INFO platform. Identify, organize, and update RCO databases as needed. Contribute to the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of software for data visualization, including backup and recovery procedures. Train the RCO team on managing and updating the developed information management and visualization tools. Support other RCO reporting activities as required.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in managing information software and related tools is required. Previous experience with the United Nations system in the region or volunteer activities is desirable.
