Job Purpose
The Technical Coordinator for the Metropolitan Region of Florianópolis will coordinate and monitor the implementation of technical project activities in collaboration with co-executing partners, UNEP Brazil, MCTI, GEF, and other stakeholders. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of the CITinova II Project within the Florianópolis Metropolitan Region, aligning with approved work plans, budgets, and quality standards. The coordinator will act as the primary project focal point, ensuring technical coherence and facilitating engagement among various governmental, institutional, and community partners to achieve the project's objectives for sustainable urban development and innovative technology investments.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor all project activities in the Florianópolis Metropolitan Region, ensuring adherence to work plans, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Serve as the main project focal point, ensuring technical coherence and coordination among metropolitan and municipal activities. Develop, implement, and review detailed work plans, proposing adaptive management measures as needed. Identify and mitigate implementation risks and bottlenecks in collaboration with the Project Management Unit. Oversee the execution of technical consultancies, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project objectives. Provide technical input for project deliverables and support the preparation of procurement documents. Lead stakeholder engagement and institutional coordination with all levels of government, partner institutions, academia, civil society, and the private sector. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and participatory processes. Monitor project progress, report on implementation status, risks, and lessons learned. Promote knowledge management by documenting best practices and experiences.
Work Experience
Requires five years of professional experience in coordinating or implementing projects related to sustainable development, urban planning, environmental management, climate action, or biodiversity. Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supervising technical consultancies is desirable. Experience working with local governments on urban sustainability and climate change initiatives is also desirable.
