National Consultant content creator and support in the development of public awareness campaigns for the Chile National Ozone Unit (NOU).
Organizational Context
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority, setting the environmental agenda and promoting sustainable development. Its Law Division, through the OzonAction Branch, supports developing countries in meeting Montreal Protocol obligations. This role supports the National Ozone Unit (NOU) of Chile, an implementing agency for the Multilateral Fund.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen the digital presence and public awareness efforts of Chile's National Ozone Unit (NOU). The content creator will manage social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) to achieve engagement goals and support two key public awareness campaigns focused on HCFC phase-out and HFC phase-down. The role involves developing outreach materials, implementing dissemination activities, and ensuring effective communication of environmental regulations and programs related to ozone layer protection and climate change, while promoting gender equity in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning sector.
Responsibilities
Develop and produce technical outreach materials for public awareness campaigns on ozone layer protection, climate change, and environmental regulations affecting the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors. Manage multiple social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) to enhance visibility and engagement, setting and achieving follower and engagement goals. Implement dissemination activities aligned with the National Ozone Unit's strategic plans, including supporting online events and maintaining a regular posting schedule. Support the development of two specific public awareness campaigns for HCFC phase-out and HFC phase-down. Ensure outreach efforts promote gender equity and women's involvement in the RAC sector.
Work Experience
Requires two years of experience in developing public awareness/outreach programs for targeted audiences and managing social media and public campaigns, including editing publications on environmental matters. Experience with Montreal Protocol awareness activities and familiarity with the communication criteria of Chile's Ministry of the Environment are highly desirable.
