Organizational Context
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) seeks an intern to support the External Relations and Communications Department in Amman, Jordan. Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide a valuable learning experience in external relations and donor engagement within a humanitarian context. The intern will support the External Relations Service team in daily operations, with a focus on data management, analysis, and presentation. Key contributions include assisting in the preparation of financial overviews, donor reports, and presentations, as well as supporting grant management processes and optimizing internal workflows. The role also involves maintaining donor datasets, updating factsheets, and assisting with proposal development, thereby contributing to the strategic decision-making and operational efficiency of the department.
Responsibilities
Support the External Relations Service team in daily operations, focusing on data management, analysis, and presentation using Excel and PowerPoint. Assist in preparing financial overviews, reports, and donor-related presentations, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Contribute to donor analysis by consolidating and interpreting funding data for strategic decision-making. Collaborate with the Contributions and Projects Units to support grant management processes, including tracking and reporting. Aid in the preparation and review of financial and narrative donor reports, ensuring compliance with requirements. Assist in optimizing internal workflows, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency in donor tracking and reporting. Provide flexible support across ERS functions as priorities evolve. Maintain the UNRWA Partnership Digest and donor-related datasets. Update donor factsheets and sector analysis templates through basic research on donor priorities and funding trends. Support proposal development and programme documents through formatting and initial quality checks.
