Organizational Context
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN body established in 1949 to assist and protect approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across the Middle East. As the largest UN operation in the region, UNRWA provides essential services including education, health care, and social services, relying heavily on voluntary contributions. This role reports to the Warehousing Officer.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for supervising the receipt, custody, and accurate inventory management of all goods, commodities, and equipment within the assigned warehouse. A key function is ensuring the precise and timely input of all stock movements into the ERP system, maintaining up-to-date records of physical stock status. The position also involves overseeing the accurate processing of ERP transactions related to goods, issuing commodities as directed, and managing warehouse staff and contractors to ensure adherence to safety and security regulations. The role contributes to the efficient operation of UNRWA's supply chain, supporting the delivery of vital services to Palestine refugees.
Responsibilities
Supervise the receipt, custody, and inventory control of all warehouse goods, commodities, and equipment. Maintain accurate stock records and ensure timely input into the ERP system. Oversee the accurate processing of ERP transactions for receipts, issuances, stock transfers, and deliveries. Conduct regular spot checks to verify ERP stock data accuracy. Issue commodities as required by the Warehousing Officer. Supervise warehouse staff and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and security regulations. Manage assigned warehouse facilities, including monitoring repairs, upgrades, and ensuring equipment and infrastructure are operational and effective. Maintain facilities in a clean and hygienic state. Ensure timely loading and off-loading of trucks for dispatch and receipt. Perform other assigned duties by the supervisor.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in storekeeping or logistics functions is required. Candidates must also have successfully completed secondary education and possess a diploma in business and office practice or a related discipline.
