Organizational Context
This Project Management Assistant role is situated within the Office of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (ODSRSG) at the United Nations Interim Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) in Pristina. The position supports the establishment and operationalization of the Project Management Office (PMO) Cell, contributing to effective programme and project implementation support services.
Job Purpose
The Project Management Assistant's primary purpose is to provide effective delivery of programme and project implementation support services within the ODSRSG office in Pristina. This role is crucial for supporting the establishment and operationalization of the Project Management Office (PMO) Cell. The assistant will contribute to developing and implementing PMO workstreams, systems, and processes to enhance project oversight, coordination, and performance management. Additionally, the role provides essential operational, administrative, and programmatic support for the planning, execution, coordination, and monitoring of all programme and project activities, ensuring timely and effective implementation and compliance with financial and administrative requirements.
Responsibilities
The Project Management Assistant will support the establishment and operationalization of the Project Management Office (PMO) Cell within the ODSRSG. This includes contributing to the development and implementation of PMO workstreams, systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms to strengthen project oversight, coordination, and performance management. The role provides operational, administrative, and programmatic support for planning, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programme and project activities. Responsibilities also include supporting programme and project managers in planning and execution, overseeing local implementation of UMOJA-related processes, monitoring project funds, ensuring compliance with financial and administrative requirements, and collecting, organizing, maintaining, and analyzing project data. The assistant will also support report preparation and maintain organized project documentation.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in programme/project implementation, administration, or data management is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a multi-stakeholder environment is desirable.
Skills
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, enterprise systems like Umoja), ability to work in a multicultural environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, programme/project implementation, administration, data management.
