Organizational Context
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat for the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) in Paris. The CCAC is a global initiative focused on integrated climate and air quality solutions, specifically reducing short-lived climate pollutants like methane and black carbon. This role supports the CCAC's Fossil Fuels Hub.
Job Purpose
This role supports the coordination of various activities within the CCAC's Fossil Fuels Hub, which aims to reduce methane and black carbon emissions from the oil, gas, and coal industries. The purpose is to facilitate the delivery of the Fossil Fuel Regulatory Programme (FFRP) and the Methane Regulator-to-Regulator (MR2R) Network. This involves effective administration, relationship building, and coordination with experts, contributing to event design, management, and communication for meetings, panels, and webinars. The role is crucial for advancing the CCAC's mission of integrated climate and air quality solutions.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include the effective administration, relationship building, and coordination of the Fossil Fuel MR2R Network, the Fossil Fuel Regulatory Programme (FFRP), and the overall Fossil Fuels Hub. This involves providing input for event design, management, and communication coordination for various events such as meetings, panels, and webinars. The role also entails organizing activities to deliver the FFRP and MR2R Network, supporting country and stakeholder engagement, and potentially working with knowledge platforms or online resource libraries. Planning, action tracking, and close-out competencies are essential for managing project activities effectively.
Work Experience
Experience in supporting country and stakeholder engagement, including established networks with strategic actors, is required. Experience with knowledge platforms or online resource libraries is considered highly desirable. Proficiency in preparing meeting and event readouts, key messages, and content is also important.
Skills
Proficiency in preparing meetings and events readouts, key messages, and content. Planning, action tracking, and close-out competency. Knowledge of IT systems and administrative processes. Strong attention to detail, systematic approach, and highly developed organizational and interpersonal capabilities. Experience in supporting country and stakeholder engagement. Fluency in English (written and oral) is required; knowledge of an additional UN language (French or Chinese) is an asset.
