Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to contribute to UNODC's efforts in combating trafficking in persons and supporting victims' rights. The role involves developing key resources such as a multilingual victims' rights manual, a study on international victim compensation practices, and a protocol for school-based reporting of TiP. Additionally, the consultant will assess existing agreements with labor-sending countries and evaluate grant proposals for legal aid initiatives, directly supporting the enhancement of access to justice for victims.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop a multilingual manual on victims' rights and a study on international practices in victim compensation. Responsibilities include creating a protocol for school-based reporting of trafficking in persons and conducting a study on agreements with labor-sending countries, assessing gaps and recommending improvements. The role also involves participating in an evaluation team for grant proposals supporting legal clinics that provide access to legal aid for trafficking victims.
Work Experience
A minimum of ten years of professional experience in crime prevention, criminal justice, international law, or related fields is required. Practical experience in legal assessments and providing technical advisory services in countering transnational organized crime, particularly trafficking in persons, is essential. Experience in training or technical assistance in the GCC/MENA region is desirable.
