Associate Programme Officer (Market Analysis), DMD/TMI (Temporary)
Organizational Context
The International Trade Centre (ITC), within the Division of Market Development (DMD), focuses on transforming trade to change lives, particularly in the Global South. The Trade and Market Intelligence (TMI) section develops and evolves market analysis tools, customizes them for specific regions, and provides capacity-building services to support trade growth and strategic decision-making for small businesses and trade support institutions.
Job Purpose
The Associate Programme Officer will support the development, implementation, and evaluation of trade and investment intelligence projects within the Trade and Market Intelligence (TMI) section. This role involves monitoring project progress, conducting basic research on trade information and online solutions, and analyzing data to support customized web platform development. The officer will contribute to policy coordination, assist in consulting assignments, and help design and analyze survey data. Additionally, the role supports the preparation of written outputs, facilitates meetings, assists with outreach activities, and participates in training workshops and field missions, all aimed at enhancing trade intelligence and market analysis capabilities for beneficiaries.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of trade and investment intelligence projects, including monitoring progress and analyzing project aspects. Conduct basic research on trade information and online solutions to support customized web platform development, involving data collection, analysis, and presentation. Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation, analyzing emerging issues and trends. Assist in consulting assignments by planning and facilitating workshops and developing action plans. Participate in survey initiatives, including designing data collection tools, reviewing responses, and preparing preliminary conclusions. Contribute to written outputs such as background papers, analytical notes, and reports. Provide administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences. Assist in outreach activities and the development of training workshops, including presentations on trade and investment intelligence solutions. Participate in field missions for data collection and support. Perform other duties as required.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant experience in project/programme management or administration is required. Experience supporting trade and investment intelligence projects is desirable. Experience in designing, developing, and monitoring customized web solutions, including platforms like the Global Trade Helpdesk, is also desirable.
