Information Systems and Digital Solutions Consultant

Organizational Context

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Asia and the Pacific Office serves 41 countries, promoting sustainable development and environmental solutions. This consultancy role sits within the Administration team, directly supporting the Head of Administration in enhancing and managing information systems and digital tools for regional operations.

Job Purpose

This consultancy aims to strengthen UNEP's information systems, reporting capabilities, digital transformation, and knowledge management within the Asia and Pacific Office. The role will focus on developing and maintaining unified dashboards, implementing digital tools for operational automation, supporting AI-based solutions for communication and knowledge search, and providing ICT support for regional events. The objective is to enhance efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and the effective rollout of UNEP initiatives across the region, contributing to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for designing, enhancing, maintaining, and operationally delivering information systems, dashboards, digital tools, and knowledge platforms. Key duties include developing a Unified Asia Pacific Financial and Management Dashboard, implementing digital tool adoption and internal automation solutions for regional office operations, and creating an AI-based solution for correspondence, brief generation, and knowledge search. Additionally, the role involves providing ICT and event coordination support for UNEP events in the region and ensuring the successful rollout of UNEP initiatives, tools, and platforms within the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP).

Work Experience

A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of information systems, reporting platforms, or related digital solutions is required. Experience in business process analysis, dashboard development, user requirements gathering, and systems support is also necessary.
