The Department of Global Communications (DGC), specifically the NGO Relations, Outreach Division, offers this internship. Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the Department of Global Communications in its mission to connect the UN with civil society organizations (CSOs). The intern will assist in disseminating information about UN activities and managing the participation of CSOs in high-level events. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in event support, data analysis, content creation, and inter-organizational communication within a global context. The intern will contribute to the effective outreach and engagement efforts of the NGLS, fostering stronger relationships between the UN and civil society entities.
Responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for screening and reviewing registration applications for high-level events. Key duties include analyzing registration data to generate statistics and infographics reports. The role involves compiling submissions for the Civil Society newsletter and creating social media content, event flyers, and RSVP forms. Additionally, the intern will monitor and respond to general office emails, assist with the NGLS Annual report, and support event planning and logistics. Providing technical support and taking minutes during meetings are also expected functions, along with other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, applicants should possess good knowledge of standard software applications, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Experience in drafting emails or publications, or knowledge of social media posting, is considered desirable.
