Organizational Context

This role is situated within the Administration and Conference Management Division, specifically the Publications and Conference Management Section, contributing to ECA's strategic objectives.
Job Purpose
The Graphic Design Assistant will support the Publications and Conference Management Section by conceptualizing and producing high-quality graphic designs for various UN-sponsored activities. This includes developing design proposals, creating infographics and data visualizations, and preparing publication-ready artwork for print and digital formats. The role involves client consultation, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with corporate branding and production standards, ultimately contributing to effective communication and the dissemination of information for ECA's mission.
Responsibilities
The Graphic Design Assistant will engage with clients to understand project requirements, including content, objectives, and technical specifications. They will independently conceptualize and develop design proposals, creating visually engaging infographics and data visualizations to communicate complex information clearly. Responsibilities include producing publication-ready artwork and preparing print-ready and accessible digital files for reports, books, and other UN publications, ensuring adherence to branding and production standards. The role also involves reviewing proofs, coordinating with clients and production staff, and managing project timelines to ensure successful delivery.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in graphic design, publication design, desktop publishing, or print/digital production is required. Desirable experience includes producing reports, books, brochures, infographics, and managing print production processes, as well as experience with accessible digital publications.
