Donor Engagement and Resources Mobilisation Intern

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is seeking an intern to support the External Relations Department in Amman, Jordan. This role operates within the Global Outreach Team, focusing on donor engagement and resource mobilization for UNRWA's vital programs.
Job Purpose
The Donor Engagement and Resources Mobilisation Intern will support the Senior Donor Relations Officer in enhancing UNRWA's relationships with bilateral and multilateral donors. This involves preparing for meetings, organizing field visits, and drafting analytical documents on donor priorities and funding mechanisms. The intern will contribute to developing engagement strategies, coordinating proposal development, and maintaining donor dashboards. The role aims to strengthen resource mobilization efforts by identifying funding opportunities and supporting the creation of donor-facing materials, ultimately contributing to the agency's operational capacity and program delivery.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation of bilateral and multilateral meetings by drafting briefing notes and organizing departmental briefings for donor visits. Develop political analysis and donor engagement strategies aligned with the team's annual work plan. Analyze key bilateral and multilateral donors, focusing on available funding mechanisms like specialized funds and thematic windows. Coordinate proposal development with implementing departments and field operations, addressing key issues such as neutrality, gender, protection, livelihoods, and peacebuilding. Maintain and update donor engagement dashboards, analyze ODA data sources, and track aid flows for UNRWA sectors. Identify key donors for sectors including education, health, protection, and crosscutting themes like youth, resilience, stabilization, gender, and disability inclusion. Draft and update donor factsheets and sector opportunity analyses for field offices, highlighting donor priorities and potential entry points.
Work Experience
