Job Purpose
This role serves to strengthen the capacity of national consultants in Burundi, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, and the Democratic Republic of Congo to deliver the Business Plan Export (BPE) methodology. By training and certifying these consultants, the objective is to create local multipliers who can effectively guide SMEs in developing structured export strategies. This initiative contributes to the overall program goal of increasing intra-regional, continental, and bilateral trade in services, particularly in selected sectors like tourism, ICT, and road transport, aligning with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for training and certifying national consultants in the Business Plan Export (BPE) methodology across four Central African countries. This includes adapting training materials, providing practical examples relevant to developing countries, and delivering coaching sessions. Key duties involve executing and coordinating BPE coaching sessions for SMEs, identifying unique value propositions, guiding businesses in developing sales arguments, documenting progress, and providing advice on implementing solutions. The consultant will also verify participant reports and ensure adherence to intellectual property rights. The role requires facilitating critical thinking within management teams to enhance strategic business development and growth.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in management roles within companies or in management consulting is required. Experience in the services sector, particularly logistics, tourism, and ICT, is highly desirable. Experience in training, coaching, and organizing export workshops is also expected.
Skills
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Excellent conceptualization, writing, and communication abilities. Adaptability to the BPE methodology. Ability to provide practical examples and connect them to developing country contexts. Results-oriented with a focus on business development. Proficiency in French is required; English is a plus.
