Job Purpose
This internship within the Press and External Relations Section of UNOG's Information Service aims to provide practical experience in communications. The intern will support the production and promotion of French-language podcasts, manage social media content in French and English, and assist with media monitoring. The role involves contributing to press releases, drafting articles, and supporting outreach events, offering a comprehensive understanding of UN communication strategies and operations in Geneva.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the preparation of the weekly French podcast 'ONU Info Genève' by identifying guests, assisting with interviews, and supporting production and promotion. Manage and create content for the French Twitter account @ONUGeneve and contribute to other social media platforms (@UNGeneva on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) in English. Participate in daily media monitoring of Swiss newspapers in multiple languages. Attend bi-weekly press briefings and assist in drafting summaries and reports. Support the drafting of press releases for human rights bodies and disarmament conferences. Write and edit articles on UN Geneva events for internal and external platforms. Assist in organizing outreach events like Ciné-ONU.
